Hi, I'm Jillian

Dear Undercover Witches,

There is nothing witchier than throwing on a pair of old jeans and digging in the dirt, harvesting wild "weeds" in season, and turning them into herbal remedies. Being a witch can be even simpler - observing the birds at the feeder during winter, advocating for mandatory recycling in your workplace, or even admiring the wildflowers on your drive home from work. Being a witch is about honoring and communing with nature.

Connection to nature heals us, sustains us, and gives us purpose in life.

Undercover Witch is a belief that the everyday womyn can find a deeper connection to herself and the beautiful world around us. She does not have to look the part (no green face, warts, or all-black wardrobe required). She simply makes time to pause and feel in tune with the world around her.

We all have a little bit of witch inside us - a yearning for her to come out and play with the plants, collect pine cones and rocks, or run our hands along the bark of a unique looking tree. Your inner witch is curious and engaging. She listens, pauses, takes action, and gives back more than she takes.

For the moments when your inner witch wants to dive deep, I offer classes and daylong immersions where you can fully engage, learn how to craft remedies out of plants, and commune with nature in a meaningful way (and I throw a bit of science in there too!) Come learn with me. I promise it is fun (I tell terrible jokes).

Your undercover witch guides you toward cultivating a relationship with nature that allows you to heal, and be healed, with the world around you. I encourage you to listen to her.

I believe strongly in the magic and profound ability of medicinal plants to restore balance. Beginning in 2015, I immersed myself in studying the wide world of plants. I completed the Beginner Herbalist, Beyond Home Herbalist, and Advanced Herbalist programs with Maria Noel Groves. I am a member of the American Herbalists Guild, and I regularly attend herbal conferences and workshops, and continue my education through The Herbal Academy, the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, and the Heartstone Center for Earth Essentials.

With a background as a public school teacher and yoga teacher, my greatest joy is sharing what I have learned and the experiences that herbs have provided to me. My hope is that you, too, discover the fascinating world of herbs and find your own supportive magic in these ancient, powerful plant friends.
